Today in Sunday school we taught the children about Jesus and why it was necessary that he had to die on the cross. If we look at our bodies, we see that they are not perfect; we have blemishes, wrinkles, cuts, poor eye sight, thinning hair, etc…. We look at our nature and believe me we may try not to sin but we eventually mess up and sin. We may run a red light, curse, tell a lie, steal, cheat on a test, think bad thoughts, hit someone, etc…. In this life, we cannot live a perfect life of sin. No matter how hard that we try too. Now as a Christian, we are to try to live holy. I’m not saying we are to freely sin, without consequences. Jesus never gave us a license to sin. He did however give us mercy and grace.
In Exodus when the children of Israel left Egypt, they traveled many miles to the promise land. They endured much things, but God protected them, fed them and clothed them for many years. He did however, set up an ordiance of sacrifice. They were to kill a lamb to shed its blood for an atonement for their sins. So when Jesus died on the cross, his blood became our atonement for our sins. His blood covered our sins.
Now to get to my point, the reason that we needed a Savior, an atonement, is because of our sins. See Heaven is a beautiful place of peace, bliss. Revelations tells us that there will be no more death, no sorrow, no night. We will live in harmony with our Lord and God. So how is Heaven such a blissful place? Because it is without sin. Do you see the point! With our sins, we cannot enter Heaven. Our sins would corrupt this Beautiful blissful place. Just like our corrupted fleshly bodies will one day be laid down. We will receive a new body. We will no longer have wrinkles or signs of aging. We will no longer have to sleep. So I hope this has answered my question so that you should all know. Jesus is our Savior and atonement for our sins so we may enter Heaven. But, there is one thing, we must believe in the Lord Jesus and simply ask him to forgive us of our sins and to cover our sins. Now if you reject Jesus as your Savior, you will not be able to enter this wonderful place. So I ask you today, Will you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior?
Read Revelation 20:12 through Revelation 21:27
Revelations 21:27 -And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
