A Treasure is a valuable or valued item such as silver or gold.
Matthew 6:21 says, “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” If we seek after richly possessions of this world, then our heart is not where it needs to be. We should seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). God knows what you have need for and he wants us to rely on him for all our needs. Matthew 6:32,33 says, “For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? (Mark 8:36) What purpose is it to receive great riches on this earth for one day to die with nothing. “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out” (Timothy 6:7). There is a time appointed by God for all men to die. “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”(Hebrews 9:27). Then God will judge the righteous and sinners for their work here on this earth. Ecclesiastes 3:17- I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work. Those that work for riches and wealth are not fulfilling God’s purpose. God knows your cares and your true desires; whether they are to serve him or whether you care more for your life than him. Matthew 6: 19-21- Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Matthew 6:25-33- Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
1 Timothy 6:10,17-19- For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. May we always look toward building on a greater foundation; that of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:11 says:For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
