The closer we get to the Lord’s return, the more and more that false prophets are going to arise. My son called tonight and spoke how someone had come to his door today that wanted to speak with him. Jamie looked at their dress and assumed it was someone from church or someone coming to invite him to church. Well it was someone from a church but not the true church of God. How do I know, you may ask. Well they started off telling my son about two Gods. One female and one male. My son is a Christian! He is in the military and he has run into all sorts of people. He doesn’t realize you can’t be friends with the world. You must chose a side. Yes, you can be nice to people, but when they contradict the truth of God’s word, it is time to show them the door.
He went on to tell me how he tried to talk with them, and how strong his faith is and so on and so on. The Bible tells us not to give them “God speed”! 2 John 1:10 says: If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed! That means don’t even listen to them or give them your attention. I went on to tell my son that our adversary, Satan is walking around seeking whom he may devour. He knows all about us. He knows what our strong points are and he knows what our weaknesses are. He knows where he can deceive you, if you allow him to. So don’t even allow him into your house or in your thoughts.
We need to keep our minds and thoughts on the true gospel. The gospel that teaches us about Jesus Christ and what he suffered for us on the cross. 1 Corinthians 1:18, 23-31 tells us: For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
