Jesus my Lord is coming soon,
Look what I’m leaving behind.
Some things are sorrowful, some are not.
All matters cleared from my mind.
Cares no longer to worry,
Troubles are over and done,
No stress or tears any more,
because I’m going to be with God’s son.
Sins no longer remembered,
All my debt is wiped away,
No longer to remember,
Unkind words that people say.
No burdens to occupy my thoughts,
No time to concern over work or play
Death is swallowed up in victory,
Jesus has taken all fear away.
I care for those that will be left on earth,
Did someone give a warning or plea?
An urging to accept God’s son,
To turn from sin and from wrath to flee.
Some I love will be left behind,
Some neighbor, friend or classmate,
They have chosen to live in guilt,
If only they would have seen their fate.
If only I could have done much more,
If only I could change their mind.
To show them the love of Jesus
How he is so loving and kind.
Look what I’m leaving behind,
No debt of sin because Jesus paid it all,
His blood was shed on Calvary,
To atone for all that broke God’s law.
