How to Obtain Salvation

prayer2There are some that are seeking God that might not know how to obtain Salvation of the Lord.  I hope this post will answer a few of your questions.  There is nothing we can do that would be good enough to get us into Heaven, except accept God’s son as our Savior.  We are as filthy rags before the eyes of God (Isaiah 64:6).  Works will not make you righteous before God.  God looks for the blood covering of the Lamb of God, which is from the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.  If righteousness were good enough, Jesus would not have died on the cross. Not by works of righteousness that which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost (Titus 3:5). We must ask Jesus for his forgiveness and for him to be our Lord.

The way to Receive Salvation is Simple.

  • First realize you are a sinner.  There is not one person on this earth that is perfect and sinless. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
  • Then Repent of your sins. All we need to do to receive forgiveness from God is to repent and ask him to forgive us. 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
  • Call Upon Jesus.  Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:9 says, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:10 says, For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Sample Prayer (Please pray from your heart)  Jesus knows your need before you ask, but you must call upon him.

Heavenly Father,

Jesus I believe you died on the cross for my sins.  I believe you arose the third day and now sit on the right side of God.  I believe you are the son of God.  I know I have sinned and I ask you to forgive me for my sins and save my soul.  I am sorry for what I have done.  Please forgive me.

In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

God’s Record of Salvation

1 John 5:11 says, And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

1 Peter 1:3 says, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

I believe Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation. Without Jesus, there is no remissions of sins:
