And she brought forth her firstborn son,
and wrapped him in swaddling clothes,
and laid him in a manger – Luke 2:7
Many things happen this time of year. Presents are bought for loved ones, many hearts are open to the poor and needy, happiness and cheer is spread to the world. This season is usually the most anticipated holiday there is. Many will spend time with family and friends, some will go to church, some will stay inside and enjoy time off from work. There is one thing we must not forget this season and that is Jesus Christ the Lord. He is the reason for the season. His birth is the reason we celebrate this holiday. It isn’t for presents or gatherings but to take time to celebrate the son of God. Jesus is the one who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, became our sin atonement and now sits on the right side of the Heavenly Father. He loves each and every one of you. We should give him honor and love this season that he deserves. Make sure to tell others about how great a Savior we serve. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!
The Christmas Story can be found in Matthew 1:18-23
-Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
-Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.
-But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
-And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.
-Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
-Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, with being interpreted is, God with us.
