Are you ready to meet the Lord? Have you prepared your mind and repented of your sins? Are you seeking the Lord? Have you turned from evil and sought things that are well pleasing in his sight. We must put off all ungodliness and put on holiness. Have you accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior? I urge you to accept Jesus now, for you may not have another day to do so.
Many people continue in sin today without fear of God or fear of judgment. God’s judgment will come one day. God is the ultimate judge of the world. He set laws and ordinances in order throughout his Bible, to teach us about the way we should live. Exodus 20 tells us about the ten commandments, but that is only the beginning. He gives us instructions of what he considers good and what he considers bad. We are not to lean to one side or the other, but to follow his laws of holiness. We are not to compromise because the world does. We are to live righteously and prepare to meet the Lord Jesus Christ.
Do you remember the story of Esther the queen. In order for her to meet King Ahaserus, she had to prepare herself with six months of oil and six months of sweet odors for the purification of women (Esther 2:12). Just like Esther prepared to meet her king, we must prepare to meet our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He expects a purified bride, spotless and clean by his precious blood atonement. The redeemed or Christians are considered the bride of Christ. See post: Marriage of the Lamb.
God tells us in Hebrews 12:14 that we should, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.” Not one person is without sin but with the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross our sins can be covered by his blood. Anyone can receive forgiveness from their sins, if they have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. God does not give us a license to sin but tells us to turn from sin. Not only should we turn from sin but we are to be God’s servants of righteousness. We are to spread the news of Jesus Christ and teach others that God expects righteousness.
