With so many things going on around us it is easy to become discouraged. We see our country going through a dramatic change that is not for the better. Men are deceived into believing a lie that the government is looking out for the best interest of everyone. Christian believers know that there is going to be a tribulation upon this earth that many men will die and the earth as we know it will drastically come to a halt. Soon God will gather together all men of the earth to a great battle in the last days and the wicked shall perish. We must have hope and faith in Christ, for without it we have nothing. Psalm 119:81 says, “My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.” God wants us to have courage and strength to move forward no matter what comes our way. Psalm 31:24 says, “Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.”
Even though we look at everything that once seemed like a place of comfort, turning into a time of distress, God’s people will prevail. It is easy to become grieved and heart-broken for those that neglect a perfect salvation that is free to all those that claim it. We know that what God has promised, he will do. Romans 4:21 says, “And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.” We know that God is a just God and his judgments are righteous. Psalm 19:9 says, “The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.”
As I look at Queen Esther in her battles upon this earth, she could have easily become discouraged. Her people refused to bow down and worship Haman; therefore he went to the king to urge him to destroy the Jews, because they refused to honor him. They obeyed not the laws of the kingdom; therefore they were considered a diverse and separate people. One day Esther found favor in sight of King Ahasuerus and he ordered Haman to be hanged. This story shows that no matter what evil comes upon God’s people, and we stand for what is right, he will destroy our enemies from the face of the earth.
