God wants us to seek after wisdom and understanding instead of riches, health or honor. He tells us in Proverbs 9:10- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Some of the things that God will give to those that seek after wisdom and knowledge:
- God will give them longer life if they fear him (Proverbs 9:11).
- They will be blessed and have favor of the Lord (Proverbs 8:34,35).
- A man that seeks God will be given good health (Proverbs 3:8, 4:22, 16:24).
- Those that seek God will be happier (Proverbs 3:13,18, Proverbs 16:20).
- God will be his protector (Proverbs 2:7, Psalms 91, Proverbs 16:7).
