If you are searching for ways to become closer to God, then I hope this post will help you. I have learned that the best way to find God is by Seeking him. To truly seek God, you must have a desire to seek him. Then you can find him through prayer and by reading your Bible. To develop a closer relationship with God, you need to set aside a time everyday to seek him. Find a quiet place in your house to pray, where there are no distractions.
A person who seeks the Lord, must learn who he is. The only way to understand God is by searching things about him. Read his word, the Bible. If you do not understand it, pray and ask God to reveal things to you. If you draw nigh to God, he will draw nigh to you (James 4:8). Another way to understand God’s word is by going to church and listening to the preacher. If you are unable to go to church, then listen to preaching on the radio or television.
God is waiting on people to seek him because he wants to have a closer relationship with us. Deuteronomy 4:29 says, But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. This does not mean sit down and say a quick prayer. To seek God you must seek him with your whole heart.
To find the Father, you must seek him often. 1 Chronicles 16:11 says, Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually. Then prepare your heart to seek the Lord. A person who continues in sin doesn’t want to find God. To find the Father, you must repent of your sins and ask for his forgiveness. Then, seek him with your whole heart through prayer.
If you haven’t accepting God as your Lord and Savior then I suggest you pray and ask him to enter your life. He is waiting on you to call upon him. Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near (Isaiah 55:6). God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God (Psalm 53:2).
